How to Apply

Each applicant should submit the following by January 15:

  1. A completed application form
  2. Digital audio or video submission to include the following:
    • A minimum of three (3) contrasting selections of opera, oratorio or art song, including one selection in German
  3. A brief statement of recommendation from your present or most recent teacher
  4. The application fee is waived.

Please note: In order to provide the highest quality program, only 36 singers will be accepted.

Program Cost: $6495

The program cost includes:

  • Housing
  • Breakfast and lunch
  • Excursions
  • Tickets to the Salzburg Festival
  • 2 weekly voice lessons with a pianist provided
  • Weekly private musical coaching
  • Masterclasses
  • Daily German-language instruction
  • A life-changing experience

The Frost School of Music's Salzburg program cost is all-inclusive with the exception of airfare, spending money, laundry, and a bus ticket. All additional program costs are covered in the program price, from ground transportation to room and board, special event fees, tickets to the Salzburg Festival, and use of practice facilities. 

Limited scholarships may be available. Personal expenses such as passport fees, textbooks, local transportation, and other items are not included. Auditors pay the full fee. 

Deposit

Students accepted into the program will need to submit 2 non-refundable deposits of:           

  • First Deposit: $1,500 by March 15th
  • Second Deposit: $1,500 by April 15th
  • Remaining Balance: by May 1st


Responsibility

The University of Miami or its agents assume no responsibility or liability in connection with the service of any train, vessel, carriage, aircraft, motor, or any other conveyance which may be used wholly or in part in the performance of its duty to participants. Neither will it be responsible for any act, error, or omission, or for any injury, loss, accident, delay, or irregularity that may be occasioned by reason of any defect in any vehicle, or through negligence or default of any company or person engaged in conveying the participants; or, for any hotel, proprietor, or hotel service, or for any other person, engaged in carrying out any services in connection with this program.

In the event it becomes necessary or advisable for the comfort and well-being of the participants, or for any reason whatever, to alter the itinerary or arrangements, such alterations may be made without penalty to the operators. Additional expenses, if any, shall be borne by the participants. The right is reserved to withdraw any or all classes or events should conditions warrant, also to decline to accept or retain any participants as members of the program.

All prices quoted are based on international rates of exchange and tariffs in effect as of October 6, 2021, and are subject to change at any time.
